L’Oréal Elnett Satin Hairspray

This product has been around for years and is especially popular in Europe, but only after watching Bravo and seeing L’Oréal Elnett hairspray being sprayed onto Rachel Zoe’s luscious locks (the only luscious thing on her body) did it cross my mind that I should probably try this product.

That, and I only trust products that have their own vehicles.

It seems to be at its cheapest at Target, but it’s honestly still a hard sell at $11-14 bucks a can. There are trial sized versions of the can available, but they’re not much of a better deal, and I would rather go big or go home.

Preferably, "big."

Here are my thoughts on this luxurious spray after several uses:

The Good-

  • The spray holds a style well, even after brushing
  • Leaves no build up or flakes
  • Beautiful vintage glamorous can
The Bad-
  • Expensive
  • Despite claims, it does leave some stiffness on hair
The Ugly-
  • Smells like AquaNet
All in all, while I don’t think it’s a total waste of makeup, there are definitely cheaper alternatives to this iconic hairspray. My short list of picks: Garnier Fructis & Kenra.
